Formula and method
This calculator uses the values you enter and applies the calculation immediately in your browser. The main output formulas are:
- Weighted GPA:
(g1*c1 + g2*c2 + g3*c3)/(c1+c2+c3)
Some formulas are undefined for certain input combinations, such as division by zero, equal x-values in a slope calculation, or logarithms of non-positive numbers. In those cases the live tool reports that the result is undefined instead of displaying Infinity or NaN.

Why GPA scales don't convert perfectly
Converting between a 4.0, 4.3, or percentage-based GPA scale is only an approximation, because schools weight grades, plus/minus modifiers, and credit hours differently. A 3.7 at one school and a 3.7 at another can represent meaningfully different grade distributions. Use a converted GPA as a general reference point for applications, not as an exact equivalence -- and check whether the receiving institution has its own official conversion table, since many do.
