Some formulas are undefined for certain input combinations, such as division by zero, equal x-values in a slope calculation, or logarithms of non-positive numbers. In those cases the live tool reports that the result is undefined instead of displaying Infinity or NaN.

The one input people underestimate
Compounding frequency (annual, monthly, daily) matters less than most people expect for typical savings accounts -- the difference between monthly and daily compounding at the same rate is usually small. Time horizon and contribution consistency matter far more: an extra five years of compounding, or a small recurring contribution added on top of the principal, tends to move the final number more than switching compounding frequency ever will.
